What is propolis?

Propolis is a resinous substance collected by bees from the branches and buds of plants and brought back to the house bees, which then mix it with secretions from the mandibular glands to make it. It is used for repairing the cells of bees, bonding the cell frames, reducing the size of the cell doors and sealing the cells of larvae. Propolis, due to its high content of flavonoids, has a wide range of biological and pharmacological effects and is metaphorically referred to as a natural antibiotic. In addition, propolis has the effects of anesthesia and pain relief, anti-inflammation, protection and strengthening of liver function, elimination of free radicals, antioxidation, regulation of immune response and radiation protection, etc. It is a highly valued health food.
